Each fall members of our club deliver dictionaries to third graders in Richland District Two elementary schools. Each student receives their own dictionary from the Spring Valley Rotary Club. The goal of this program is to assist all students in completing the school year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers by providing students with their own personal dictionary.
Every third-grade student in a South Carolina public school receives a dictionary, thanks in part to donations from people all over the country and Rotary Clubs in Districts 7770 and 7750 in South Carolina who participate in the Dictionary Project.
The Dictionary Project is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. The national project is headquartered in Charleston, SC. For more information log on to www.dictionaryproject.org
